After a day essentially based on recovery, in their hotel-spa in Champneys Springs, in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, to recover from the first match against Italy (5-1), the French women switched, this Tuesday, on their second meeting, against Belgium, Thursday evening (9 p.m., TF1, Canal +).
For the first time since their arrival last Tuesday, the Bleues played entirely behind closed doors.
During the day's set-up, on the training ground adjoining the hotel, Corinne Deacon lined up a team similar to the one that started against the Italians.
This would mean Atlético de Madrid player Aissatou Tounkara would once again be preferred over Griedje Mbock in central defense and paired with Wendie Renard.
The probable team against Belgium:
1. Peyraud-Magnin – 22. Périsset, 5. Tounkara, 3. Renard (cap.), 7. Karchaoui – 8. Geyoro, 14. Bilbault, 6. Toletti, – 11. Diani , 9. Katoto, 20. D. Cascarino.
In the midfield we obviously found the Parisian Grace Geyoro, author of a hat-trick against Italy.
There is still one last training session where the coach can still change her plans.
It will be this Wednesday, not in Rotherham, on the lawn of the New York Stadium where the match against the Belgians will take place, but in Ashby-de-la-Zouche, at 6 p.m. French.
On the Belgian side, OL striker Janice Cayman stayed indoors today but her participation is not in question.
