Real Madrid has made official this Thursday the hiring of Dzanan Musa for the next two seasons.

The Bosnian forward, 23 years old and 2.05m, arrives from the Breogán River to become the first reinforcement of the current champion of the ACB league.

The player passed the medical examination this Thursday morning at Hospital Universitario Sanitas La Moraleja and upon successful completion he has signed his contract until 2024. Madrid hit the table with the hiring of the MVP and top scorer of the last regular league, with which he intends to correct some of the faults that the team had last season.

In Madrid, according to the club's statement, they consider him "one of the players who has had the greatest impact on the Endesa League in recent years and one of the greatest talents in European basketball."

Last season, in which he established himself by qualifying Río Breogán for his first Copa del Rey in 32 years, the Bosnian averaged 20.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.1 steals and 23.1 of assessment.

In the Madrid entity they trust that his contribution will serve to recover the outside game that Real Madrid suffered so much from last season.

Musa not only averages a 56.1% 2-point shooting rate, but he also shoots 38.1% from 3-point range.

"He is a 2.05m forward with a spectacular scoring ability and great technical resources," adds Madrid.

In his presentation as a Real Madrid player, Musa highlighted his scoring and leadership abilities.

“I am more mature and I can do more things than before.

Individual stats aren't that important to me, I just want to win titles."

The Bosnian has also admitted that the white dressing room already has important figures who take the lead.

“The ones that have impressed me the most are Sergio (Llull) and Edy (Tavares).

Edy is incredibly big and Sergio is the leader.

When I played against them it was incredible to see how Sergio came out on the pitch to manage the match”, he has pointed out.

After debuting in the Croatian league at the age of 15 and in the Euroleague at 16, standing out as one of the most promising figures on the scene in lower category tournaments, he headed to the NBA in 2018. He was selected in 29th place in the draft for the Brooklyn Nets, but he did not have opportunities to shine in the two seasons he was in the American League.

So, he returned to Europe to sign with Anadolu Efes, with whom he lifted the Euroleague in 2021 against Barcelona.

This season he signed for the Río Breogán and has become one of the most important figures in Spanish basketball.

With this move, Madrid lays the first foundation for Chus Mateo's team, who replaced Pablo Laso on the bench.

Until now, the club had only announced departures or renewals, but no hiring.

Pablo Laso, Heurtel, Thompkins and Taylor finished their stage in Madrid, while Causeur, Llull and Rudy have extended their contract.

The team still lacks work in this transfer market to reinforce the positions where it has suffered the most this year, especially the point guard.

Names like Sergio Rodríguez, Mario Hezonja, Petr Corniele or even Campazzo sound like possible reinforcements.

Madrid, for now, has only closed the incorporation of Musa.
