First place and that's it.

The France team won against Belgium (2-1) in this second group match and qualified for the quarterfinals of the Euro.

As a bonus, Les Bleues obtain first place in the group but will have been less convincing against the Belgians than against the Italians four days earlier.

With 9 holders out of 11 compared to their last match, they were indeed not as attractive or effective.

However, they had started perfectly by opening the scoring by Diani, author of a victorious whim on a cross from Karchaoui (1-0, 6th).

Katoto, an outing that disrupted

An ideal start for the French forwards who could have quickly made the break without a shot next to Cascarino (11th) or a post found by the inevitable Diani (16th).

But the Deacon players will be disturbed by the injury exit of their attacker Katoto (17th) and will give in on a pass inspired by Wullaert for Cayman, who beat Renard to score with a sharp (1-1, 36th).

But no time to doubt for the Blues since five minutes later, Mateo, the surprise holder of the evening, sent a perfect cross for Mbock, scorer with a determined header (2-1, 41st).

A sluggish second half

This will not take away this first place promised to the Habs, who will be able to patiently wait for their quarter-final in this Euro, on July 23rd.
