The legend assures that Barça was wrong for Hierro when in the 1988-1989 season they signed Manolo instead of his brother Fernando.
The confusion, which was never confirmed or denied, helps to explain the club's erratic sports policy and its ease in allowing itself to be fooled - the trajectory of both players shows that Barça was wrong to the same extent that Madrid was right - until it happened to be a slave to the style devised by Johan Cruyff.
He is not enough to invoke the model to play well, but criteria and talent are needed, and therefore good players, or there is a risk of losing the oremus, as has happened lately at the Camp Nou.
It is no longer known if Barcelona was the victim of a loss or a DNA leak.
No one has symbolized the situation better than Ousmane Dembélé.
Mbappé wanted to play in 2017 at the Camp Nou and Monaco rubbed their hands because simply attending to their player's wishes avoided reinforcing PSG.
The operation was valued at 100 million euros and the agent who mediated between the clubs was Josep Maria Minguella.
Barcelona, however, opted for Dembélé in exchange for 135 million because his technical services observed that "Mbappé played for him while Dembélé played for the team," according to a statement by former manager Javier Bordas.
"Better a winger than a finisher to replace Neymar."
The Barça club has invested up to 410 million -135 for Dembélé, 140 for Coutinho and 135 for Griezmann- and has not yet found the definitive replacement for Neymar while the Brazilian striker has spent five years from the Arc de Triomphe to the living room of the Princes Park.
Neymar doesn't really know where to go, Mbappé turned back on his way to Madrid to return to Paris and Dembélé has had no use having the freedom letter because he hasn't left the Camp Nou.
The French striker is convinced that he will finally be able to respond to the poster of being the best winger in the world with Xavi's consent.
Barcelona and Dembélé insist that they are right in the face of the alternative that Mbappé symbolized.
It is not just any question after verifying that only seven of the 28 signings that the Barça club has made in the last five years - some 1,000 million invested - continue and only Pedri and somehow Ferran seem to have a safe place in the squad Xavi.
Very few football deals have had such a surprising effect as Neymar's move to PSG for €222m.
