With a broader squad and the tailwind from the outstanding second half of the season, VfB Hallbergmoos wants to establish itself in calmer waters in the Bayernliga.

Hallbergmoos

– The first Bayernliga year was a huge experience for the whole club.

After a brilliant comeback and four nerve-wracking relegation games, the VfB Hallbergmoos footballers secured relegation.

The 2022/23 season is now under completely different circumstances: The Hallbergmoosers want to establish themselves in the Bayernliga Süd.

There were some changes in the team squad.

The current status

Because of the two-week relegation, the VfB team felt that they had no vacation and no scheduled preparation.

The team starts the season with a deficit, but the euphoria is great.

The surrounding

VfB has long been working in many areas at regional league level and also has a full stadium.

Viewership numbers above 500 are becoming more and more likely, the fan base is growing at an impressive rate.

VfB is also number one in the district in the stands, and not just in terms of the league.

The trainer

Matthias Strohmaier is a cool guy, very friendly - but also very demanding.

He brought the smell of professional football to Hallbergmoos, makes young players better and takes the club to a new level in terms of level and goals.

The tactic

The basis for good defensive work are the 4-4-2 and 4-2-3-1 systems, while the team always wants to play differently when attacking.

VfB has many options and would like to become much more unpredictable in the second Bayernliga year.

The squad

The list sounds exciting.

The tribe from the previous year has remained - in addition there are highly talented young players.

All positions are double occupied.

Goal

Keeper Martin Dinkel replaced club legend Ferdinand Kozel in the second half of the season and repaid the trust with top performances in the relegation.

"The change in goal was a courageous step on a fine line," says coach Strohmaier.

The new substitute Dario Pavlovic has talent but still needs time.

home defence

With Matthias Strohmaier, Andreas Giglberger, Christoph Mömkes and Carl Opitz, VfB have four top players for whom there is no first or second choice.

Giglberger can also play on the six - and Mömkes everything except for the goalkeeper.

chain of three?

Or a chain of four?

You can do both with this staff.

external defence

Johannes Petschner has developed very well on the right – and with ex-Freisinger Osaro Aiteniora you have two top players.

Then there is Maximilian Zeisl, who can play everything defensively.

So VfB has a luxury problem on the right back.

On the left Julian Kersting can close the gap left by Leon Schmit and give the team support with his experience.

Moritz Mühlrath is his challenger.

midfield central

Captain Andreas Kostorz is the anchor of the game, the heart of the team and the dead ball man.

It's like Thomas Müller under Louis van Gaal: Kosti always plays.

In addition to him, Philipp Beetz was the last to come out on top.

David Küttner has developed well, but will soon be gone for two months to study abroad.

David Lucksch is a Bayernliga experienced man.

And if there's a fire, you still have Oberkampf Giglberger.

outer lane

That was the weak point last season.

In the second half of the season, Tobias Krause made a huge leap, but there was no real competition - and the system was changed in the event of injury-related absences.

Most recently, Hallberg brought in Fabian Czech, a regular from Pullach, who were relegated to the Bavarian League, and half a dozen young people who feel like they can run the 100 meters in eleven seconds.

Monty Mendama is the fastest, but Corona stopped him recently.

Storm

Fabian Diranko is dealing with his pubic arthritis again and will be absent indefinitely.

With Maurice David, VfB have signed a penalty area striker who is fast and technically strong.

The diamond stolen from Ismaning now has to be polished.

James Joseph is also highly talented and is available for four games for the time being.

Then he flies to Nigeria and has to get a permanent visa.

The conclusion

The club, which was still a district league team in 2010, has made remarkable progress.

VfB has become more professional on and off the field.

Youth work is booming - and even the U19s had 500 spectators at the Sparkassen Cup final.

The first team now has Bayernliga level across the board.

The squad is very young, the lack of experience could be a disadvantage.

Here the few older players are challenged.

forecast

VfB ends up between eighth and 14th place. Relegation play other this time.
