1:5 in Geretsried: SE Freising messes up the season opener

Cheering Geretsrieder, quarreling Freisinger: For the SEF footballers there was nothing to get on the first day of the game - especially the defense weakened.

State league team SE Freising was the better team in Geretsried at times, but lost 5-1 when Florian Bittner made his debut as coach.

– They had imagined it very differently: The season premiere went completely wrong for the SE Freising state league footballers, when their player coach Florian Bittner made the debut, the yellow-blacks lost clearly 1: 5 (0: 1) at TuS Geretsried.

The SEF kickers had already traveled to the south of Munich on Saturday with a certain level of expectation.

The preparation for the new season wasn't that bad, and at first the first appearance of the almost completely renewed team didn't feel bad at all.

There was even leadership in the air.

The greatest chance: Coach Bittner headed to the crossbar from four meters after a corner (13th).

And youngsters Marcos Hones and Felix Günzel were close to making it 1-0.

In terms of play, the Freisingers were even the better team.

Counter hit throws back the SEF

And the hosts?

They found their way into the game better and were then in front at the break.

Geretsried pressed, during one action the Freisingers couldn't get the ball out of the danger zone, Sebastian Schrills followed up and scored to make it 1-0.

"After a really good start, that threw us back," analyzed Bittner.

Even after the change, it initially looked as if Freising could take something with them.

But as in the first half, the forward actions weren't compelling enough - and the Freising defenders didn't have their best day at the back.

The punishment followed after 56 minutes: Lerchenfelder actually acted with a majority after a ten-minute penalty for Lukas Kellner, but the Geretsrieders scored the goal after a counterattack by Sebastian Schrills (56th).

Bitter: The better team at this point was the SEF, Marcos Hones had failed, among other things, with the TuS keeper.

Freising storm and stress phase fizzled out

Hope grew in the Freising camp when the guests finally scored: Substitute Alexander Eppink put his back to the goal on youngster Hones, who converted coldly (66th).

But instead of forcing the 2:2, the storm-and-drang phase of the SEF fizzled out completely.

In addition, the Freising defense, which was made up of three experienced players, showed a poor performance, mostly they were too far away from their opponents.

Geretsried used this cleverly and gave the guest three goals within six minutes through Srdan Ivkovic (72'/73') and again Schrills (78').

Player-coach Bittner struggled a bit for words after his premiere.

This clear defeat is difficult to explain, "the result is somewhat deceptive about the course of the game".

While Freising went into the game a little too naively, “Geretsried played it ice cold”.
