Football: PSG players arrived in Japan for their summer tour

The Parisian players arrived in Japan on Sunday for a ten-day summer tour with three friendly matches scheduled against local clubs.

The group of 25 players and new coach Christophe Galtier landed at Haneda airport in Tokyo shortly before midday where around 100 fans were waiting for them, but they had to wait nearly two hours before leaving the premises, the time to submit to the anti-covid procedures put in place by the Japanese authorities, according to a source close to the organization.

The three stars of the team, Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi and Neymar, accompanied by Galtier, then went to a hotel in the Japanese capital for a presentation of the tour, in front of a hundred local journalists.

The event, initially announced as a press conference, was quickly dispatched and boiled down to a very short question-and-answer session between the three players and a presenter, focusing on their first impressions of the country and their knowledge Japanese soccer.

PSG will leave Japan on July 28 directly for Tel Aviv where they are due to play for the Champions Trophy on July 31 against Nantes.
