Successful comeback in the Landesliga Südwest: Thanks to a hat-trick by Sebastian Schrills and two goals by Srdan Ivkovic, TuS Geretsried started the season with a 5-1 win over Freising.
Geretsried - It couldn't have gone better: With a 5:1 (1:0) victory against SE Freising, TuS Geretsried celebrated its comeback in the Landesliga Southeast on Saturday.
Only three minutes were played when Toni Berger set his sights on the Freising goal for the first time.
However, he aimed too high, as did Srdan Ivkovic, whose shot with the right outside instep hissed over the bar a little later.
The hosts were extremely lucky when SE player coach Florian Bittner only hit the crossbar with a header after the first Freising corner (13th).
Otherwise, the TuS dominated the game for long stretches of the first round, as Martin Grelics noted positively: "In the first half we pressed very high, as we had planned." This also resulted in the lead in the 23rd minute when Schrills benefited from a mess in the Freising back line.
The game went into the break with a 1-0 lead.
Five minutes after the restart, referee Michel Stölpe first caused a stir in the Geretsried camp when he sent Lukas Kellner off the field for ten minutes.
Schrills managed to increase the lead to 2-0 when outnumbered, but the guests now had their strongest phase.
TuS keeper Simon Voß had to stretch a lot when Marcos Hones shot a shot, and a little later he thwarted the Freisinger goal with a foot defense against Alexander Eppink.
It was about time for him in the 66th minute: Hones shortened the lead after work by Michael Schmid.
"Ten of us came under pressure," said TuS coach Grelics, who had to admit: "We swam after the break."
Three TuS hits within six minutes
Until Ivkovic hit a corner kick from Johannes Bahnmüller with his forehead to make it 3-1 (72nd).
"The goal really came at the golden moment," said the TuS coach.
Just 60 seconds later, Ivkovic was there again to make it 4-1, and it was another five minutes before Schrills made it 5-1 with his third goal on a pass from Jonathan Bahnmüller.
"You have to be a bit careful", Martin Grelics tried to classify the result correctly after the end of the game.
Overall, he attested to his team's "very committed performance" and many phases in which they played really well.
"That's why I'm satisfied, but it's just one game for now." The next game for TuS is already on Tuesday, July 19th.
