Luna Chamtai Salpter made history today (Monday) winning the bronze medal in the women's marathon, the world athletics championships held in Oregon in the USA. This is the fourth medal in Israeli history in the industry's record event - and Israel's first significant achievement in the running industry.
Rogel Nahum, the professional director of the Athletics Association:
"Luna with a smart run, her amazing show today. We have no words, she did not say anything at the end just shouted there and fell apart. For so many years she knows she was worth it, and it finally happened. It is not a great achievement, it is a huge achievement, a marathon is one of the most prestigious competitions. Luna enters the leading trio of Israeli athletics of all time. "
"We stood at the first stop, and followed the apps and saw the pace. After she passed us by 30 kilometers, we walked towards the final and waited for the moment when she would burst towards the finish."
