She had big plans, but for Gina Lückenkemper it was already over in the 100-meter semifinals at the World Championships. After her retirement, the sprinter was annoyed by the unrest in the stands.

Gina Lückenkemper was only allowed to watch as the Jamaican trio won gold, silver and bronze over 100 meters with sprints well under the eleven-second mark.

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce celebrated her fifth individual triumph in 10.67 seconds on Sunday night in Eugene and her tenth victory at a World Championships in Athletics.

Second was Shericka Jackson in 10.73 seconds ahead of five-time Olympic gold medalist Elaine Thompson-Herah in 10.81 seconds.

Experiencing this was the second damper for the German EM second after the disappointing knockout in the semifinals.

"11.08 seconds is not what I had in mind, I definitely wanted more," said Lückenkemper after her semifinals, which developed into a small "drama".

At first everything seemed to be going quite normally, before Tynia Gaither (Bahamas) was disqualified immediately after the start because of a false start.

Gaither then started a discussion, as Lückenkemper and her colleagues knelt in the starting block again, the crowd booed at Gaither's disqualification.

The runners had to get out of their starting position again, only when the situation had calmed down were they allowed to start running.

"I can understand the frustration, but that was just unfair to all the other athletes," said Lückenkemper after the race about the unrest that had developed in the stands and disrupted the process.

"Going to the starting block three times to run once, that was really heavy." See the video of the scene here.

Lückenkemper calculates something in the season

Lückenkemper hopes for a better result in the relay on Saturday.

Together with Alexandra Burghardt, fifth in the Olympics, who was not in top shape after suffering from a norovirus infection and had to drop out in the preliminary heat, Lückenkemper is counting on a lot.

"I think the relay will be cool and we'll have a decent team on the track," said the 25-year-old.

She also has great hopes that things will go better at the European Championships in Munich – three weeks after the World Cup.

“The cards are being reshuffled in Munich.

Then they attack again, that's where things go around," said Lückenkemper.
