Welsh soccer star Gareth Bale has celebrated his debut in the North American professional league MLS.
The 32-year-old came on in the 72nd minute of Los Angeles FC's away win in Nashville.
It was Bale's first competitive appearance in club competition since April.
“I was itching.
As soon as I was on the bench, I wanted to get out there and help the team, play a few minutes," Bale said.
He moved to the United States in June after nine years at Real Madrid.
Before that, he was mainly noticed by his listless demeanor.
Only when he was on the pitch for the Wales national team did Bale impress on a regular basis.
His motto is said to be: »Wales, Golf, Madrid.
In this order."
In the USA, the former most expensive footballer in the world is still the absolute top star in the league.
In addition to the five-time Champions League winner, Italian veteran Giorgio Chiellini, 37, made his debut for LA.
Cristian Arango and Jose Cifuentes scored for the Californians, while former Hertha player Hany Mukhtar scored for Nashville.
