In the shadow of the upheaval from the departure of Guy Harel to the position of CEO after nine years, Hapoel Jerusalem continues to function as usual and build the team for the upcoming season.
According to sources, it is not at all certain that Harel will leave the club completely and may continue in a senior position at the club and work with the new operating manager who is elected and with the professional consultant Yotam Halperin as needed.
Already in the middle of last season Harel asked to leave, but at the request of owner Eyal Chomsky stayed to stabilize the system.
After the ownership crisis was resolved and the club finally passed into Chomsky's hands, Harel felt it was the right time to leave.
The CEO (soon to be former) wanted to end his current role with the club standing steadily with a functioning system and economic and organizational certainty.
Hapoel Jerusalem is now looking for an operations manager who will deal mainly with the managerial and marketing side, while in the meantime Harel continues as usual in building the team together with coach Alexander Dzikic and Halperin.
