VfB Hallbergmoos started the Bayernliga season 22/23 with an unfortunate defeat.

However, the performance gives courage for the first home game.

Hallbergmoos

– In the second half of last season, VfB Hallbergmoos was a top team in the Bavarian league.

This was followed seamlessly - with a strong performance at championship favorite Landsberg.

They were only beaten by a controversial penalty and a lucky goal.

But it is also clear that with a similar performance in the first home game against TSV Schwaben Augsburg (Tuesday, 7.30 p.m.) you have a good chance of winning.

"We played very well in Landsberg and a win would have been world class," says coach Matthias Strohmaier.

He observed with enthusiasm that after the mini-holiday and a short preparation, you showed passion again and were physically there.

This condition will now also be needed against TSV Schwaben Augsburg, who enjoys the reputation of being a tough opponent.

Strohmaier hopes for the Hallberg fans: "Anyone who saw us on Saturday will come back"

Compared to the Landsberg game, the spectator factor is now added again.

In the relegation, the Hallbergmoosers always had more than 500 fans and some fans also traveled to Landsberg.

"Anyone who saw us on Saturday will come back," says Strohmaier.

The coach relies on the environment as a factor, because penalties, like the one "stolen" by Sascha Mölders in Landsberg, are more likely to be awarded to home teams.

In the relegation, the full grandstand was a factor in the two home wins against Regensburg and Neudrossenfeld.

In the first home game, the club will now get clues as to what has remained of the intense first Bayernliga season.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

There is really no reason to change anything compared to the first game.

Nevertheless, Matthias Strohmaier is thinking about a rotation in the English week.

In addition, it is conceivable that you can become more offensive with changes on the left flank.

Julian Kersting, who immediately introduced himself as a starting eleven candidate, could move into the back four and offensively free up a place for Simon Werner, for example.

Up front, it is conceivable that counterattacker James Joseph could now be replaced by Maurice David.

With the positions filled twice, the coach has significantly more options this season than last year.

The Hallbergmoosers should be warned about their first home game opponents, because Schwaben Augsburg surprised on the first day of the game with a 2-1 home win against last year's third-placed FC Ingolstadt II.

That should be warning enough that the targeted first three at home is likely to be a tough job.

After the Landsberg game in the passive role, VfB should get significantly more possession this time - other solutions are needed to create scoring chances.
