FC Bayern finally officially introduced Matthijs de Ligt.

But in the rush, those responsible made a mistake in a video.

Munich – The official announcement was eagerly awaited, now the deal is finally dry.

Matthijs de Ligt comes from Juventus Turin and will sign with FC Bayern until 2027.

As is customary in the industry, the newcomer was presented with a short video.

But with Matthijs de Ligt, those responsible made an embarrassing faux pas.

Matthijs de Ligt

Born: August 12, 1999 in Leiderdorp (Netherlands)

Position: centre-back

Caps for the Netherlands: 38 (2 goals)

Market value: 70 million euros

Matthijs de Ligt: The mistake is in the final scene of the announcement video

The clip shows a message in a bottle being released into the Isar near the Thalkirchner Bridge in the south of Munich.

The scenes that follow show the bottle floating in the water, accompanied by accordion music.

It goes past the Wittelsbacherbrücke and then the Reichenbachbrücke, until the bottle arrives at the Praterinsel on the cable bridge.

So far so good.

At the end of the 35-second video, the bottle drifts toward Matthijs de Ligt, who is wading in the water.

The newcomer opens the mail, inside is a jersey, which he holds up to the camera with a grin and a "Servus".

Immediately thereafter, the video ends with a yodel call.

But apparently those responsible didn't pay enough attention to the final scene.

FC Bayern: Flow direction of the Isar changed – does de Ligt have unimagined powers?

To understand where the mistake lies, it is worth taking a look at a map of Munich.

The Isar flows through the city from south to north.

Everything is still correct in the video up to the Praterinsel, the bottle is drifting in the right direction.

But the place where Matthijs de Ligt is in the video is on Flaucher and is therefore between Thalkirchner Bridge and Wittelsbacher Bridge.

This means that the bottle must have swum against the current from the Praterinsel to the Flaucher.

Or does Matthijs de Ligt have unexpected powers and could he beam the bottle in his direction?
