TSV 1860 is one of the top favorites for MagentaSport commentator Christian Straßburger.

In an interview, commentator Christian Straßburger (30) talks about the situation in the 3rd division before the start of the season, the current performance potential of TSV 1860 and the Lions' chances of promotion.
Herr Straßburger, Magdeburg, Braunschweig and Kaiserslautern have left the league. Dresden and Ingolstadt have been relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga, while Oldenburg, Bayreuth, Elversberg and Rot-Weiss Essen have joined from below. A good substitute?
Last season was really great.
It was exciting, a lot of goals were scored.
From this point of view, the FCM and the FCK, but also Braunschweig are of course a bitter loss.
But you have to see what we still have in the league.
The myth returns: red and white food!
They have longed for a decade to rise.
Their stadium on Hafenstrasse will be a huge asset to the league.
They have a good chance of becoming the strongest team at home, and all the other teams - including TSV 1860 - will still be looking around.
Even with the other teams like Mannheim, Saarbrücken, Duisburg and Osnabrück, I'm not afraid that this season will be less attractive than the last.

Which stadiums are you looking forward to?
I will play the opening game Osnabrück against Duisburg (Friday, 7 p.m., ed.).
This is going to be something very special.
A floodlight show on the Bremen Bridge is almost unbeatable.
But of course the Schauinsland Reisen Arena in Duisburg and the Grünwalder Stadium will also be highlights this season.
And a game at Dynamo Dresden is always special.

Elversberg, Oldenburg and Bayreuth will always have to give 110 percent to have a chance of staying up.
Who's running at the top?
Waldhof Mannheim and VfL Osnabrück will play at the top until the end.
FC Ingolstadt is a candidate for promotion simply because of its financial strength.
But Dynamo Dresden and the Munich Lions have the best chances.

I believe that.
But I'm serious: Sixty is an absolute top club with an endless tradition.
They belong in the Bundesliga.
Even in the 3rd league, the lions still have an amazing radiance.
On paper, the Sixties have bought fantastically and I'm curious to see what Michael Köllner will make of it.
In my opinion one of the best coaches that sixty could get.
If this team finds itself, Sixty will be promoted to the second division.
What is the difference to previous seasons?
You opened your wallet a bit, the squad is strong.
Verlaat was already strong in Mannheim and is also a really cool guy, at whose side a top talent like Leandro Morgalla can grow optimally.
Christopher Lannert is a workhorse who will work the right side without end.
TSV 1860: Act like FC Bayern
So the newcomers make the difference?
Not only!
Even established lions can decide a game.
Hiller is one of the top goalkeepers in the league.
Point.
You have a clipper like Marcel Bär and a leader à la Stefan Lex. And not to forget: Yannick Deichmann.
He's not just a really fine guy, I can attest to that.
Every coach wants him on his team because he puts himself at the service of the community, can be used flexibly and accepts every position excellently.
A workaholic who just plays fantastic football.
But all players must also be able to deal with the pressure of expectations.
Yes, Sixty Munich is always under pressure.
It's the city, it's history, it's the players and fans who want to get to the top.
Pressure is always there.
But you can also use it for yourself.
I think it's great that the club doesn't hide and makes promotion their goal right from the start.
Many other clubs can learn a lesson from that.
Only FC Bayern is so self-confident.
I'm not worried about sixty at all.
I believe that the start will be successful.
Of course there will also be weaker phases, but I say: In the end, 1860 will rise.
