Robert Lewandowski defends his agent Zahavi: "Pini is not selfish"

Robert Lewandowski forced his move to Barcelona with the help of his agent Pinhas Zahavi.
Now the striker defended his players' agent.
Miami – Robert Lewandowski, one of the greatest strikers in Bundesliga history, left FC Bayern.
After twelve years, the Pole ended his era in the German elite class and moved to Barcelona, for 45 million euros the Catalans bought him out of his contract with Munich.
In the end, his notorious agent Pinhas "Pini" Zahavi helped him to make his wish come true.
Afterwards, Lewandowski defended the methods of the players' agent.

Lewandowski advisor Pinhas Zahavi caused dissatisfaction at Bayern with the Alaba change
Bayern already had to negotiate with his agent Zahavi during the contract game involving David Alaba, which ended with the Austrian leaving Real Madrid free of charge.
This turned out to be a mammoth task, as the 78-year-old insisted on a significant salary increase for the extension of his client Alaba.
Bayern opposed the adviser's demands and lost their specially trained defense chief.
The Bayern board was anything but enthusiastic about Zahavi's approach, Honorary President Uli Hoeneß even described him as a "greedy piranha".
Zahavi is well known for raking in high commissions on its deals.

In the past few months, Bayern have had to deal with Zahavi again when it came to Lewandowski's contractual future in Munich beyond 2023.
However, the Israeli fueled his client's farewell, publicly announcing at the end of May that Lewandowski's "story at FC Bayern is over" despite the Basta power word from Bayern boss Oliver Kahn.
Although Bayern had the upper hand, they finally gave in and accepted the offer from Barcelona.

, Lewandowski spoke
about the reasons for his departure and also defended Zahavi's controversial way of working.
"Pini never gave up, that's unbelievable.
I thanked him during the night from Friday to Saturday.
He said: 'It was perhaps the most complicated transfer of my life.
But we made it," said the 33-year-old.

He was "very grateful that he helped me to take this step," said Lewandowski, who took the opportunity to counteract the negative image of his advisor.
"Pini is not selfish, he only has one thing on his mind: the well-being of his players and clients," said the goalscorer.
Those responsible at FC Bayern would probably not necessarily agree with this statement given the events of the last two summer transfer windows.
