The transfer of Konrad Laimer to FC Bayern seemed to be just a formality, but now it threatens to become a public exchange of blows.
Munich – RB managing director Oliver Mintzlaff was asked before the preparatory game of his Leipzig against Liverpool about the possible departure of Konrad Laimer to Bayern, apparently a sore point.
In addition to the statement that it was anything but clear that Laimer would move to Munich, there was a decent broadside towards Munich.
The counterattack from Säbener Straße was not long in coming.
Mintzlaff accuses Bayern of lack of ideas
It probably doesn't quite fit RB Leipzig's self-image that you're not the biggest fish in the pond yourself.

Mintzlaff was visibly pissed off by the behavior of FC Bayern, who, after Dayot Upamecano and Marcel Sabitzer (both changed last summer), now also want to sever Konrad Laimer from the Red Bull club.

"I hope that Bayern will find other ideas and not always get our players," Mintzlaff said on Red Bull boss Dietrich Mateschitz's TV station.
However, according to information from
Sport Bild
, Laimer has already reached an agreement with Hasan Salihamidzic.
Leipzig, on the other hand, rejected the latest offer from Munich for the Austrian and set a deadline for the Supercup game on July 30th.

If Bavaria does not want to submit an offer that corresponds to Leipzig's wishes before the Supercup duel between the two clubs, Laimer will probably go into his last year of contract with RB.
An option that Mintzlaff is also considering: "It's also possible that we keep him and go into the last year of his contract and don't get a fee." A fee that Leipzig would not be dependent on financially anyway.
