The Spanish Football League (LaLiga) requested the repeal of the contract binding Paris Saint-Germain to Kylian Mbappé, previously coveted by Real Madrid, before the Administrative Court (TA) of Paris, according to the complaint consulted Friday by the AFP.
This appeal for suspension of La Liga also concerns the approval of the club's accounts by the National Directorate of Control and Management (DNCG).
This request was rejected on the same day for lack of urgency, we learned from a judicial source, and will be examined on the merits within a longer period.
“
We expected it
”, explains to AFP the French lawyer of LaLiga, Juan Branco, “
it was a technical appeal, what matters is the judgment on the merits
” which could not intervene “
before the end of the season
” 2022-23, he believes.
“
Our steps at the French level are facing heavy resistance, they are only a first step before seizing the European courts, within a few months
”, adds Mr. Branco.

LaLiga asked the TA "
to cancel the administrative decisions
" of
the "approval of the contract
" of Mbappé by the Professional Football League (LFP) as well as "
the refusal
" of the DNCG "
to take measures with regard to of PSG
", decision dating back to June 21, 2021. According to Me Branco, PSG did not respect the "
criteria and indicators provided for by the regulations of the LFP and the DNCG as well as those enacted by UEFA
" through the financial fair play rules.
According to him, this “
generated significant and direct damage against the applicant, LaLiga
”.
Skewed balance sheets, fanciful budgets
He criticizes the PSG for having presented "
distorted balance sheets, deliberately fanciful provisional budgets
" and for having "
made up the system of related parties implemented with sponsors directly dependent on the Qatari entity
", as the country's tourist office.
“
This situation structurally undermines the possibility of fair and undistorted competition within the internal market of the European Union (…) and the principles of sporting fairness
”, explains the lawyer again.
This is the first step in the strategy of LaLiga and its lawyer towards PSG, as Juan Branco announced on June 17 during a press conference in Paris, providing for "
graduated procedures
" aimed at the PSG.
“
The LFP should never have validated this contract (de Mbappé, NDLR).
The DNCG should have noted PSG's breach of the rules of financial fair play at national but also European level
, ”he explained.
