Top priority for TuS: eliminate errors

The new national league season is only two match days old when the footballers of TuS Geretsried are already going through a blatant roller coaster ride of emotions: The 5:1 opening win against SE Freising a week ago was followed by a 1:6 pack at TuS Holzkirchen.

That's all there is to it,” Martin Grelics admits that the defeat on Tuesday evening wasn't easy to digest.
A short study of the video before the next training session clearly revealed the causes: too many mistakes throughout the game.
According to the TuS coach, there was “often a good residual defense” after losing the ball.
But the majority in the protection often had no effect because the defense was discouraged.
"It was more of an accompanying defense," analyzes Grelics.
"They didn't try to defend the goal with the utmost consistency." That's how the first three goals were conceded in Holzkirchen.
"We have to stop that incredibly quickly." Otherwise, in the home game against VfB Forstinning this Saturday (5 p.m.), the next rude awakening threatens.
"Forstinning has a very good switching game, looks for the deep ball incredibly quickly," says the trainer, impressed.
The newcomer from the Ebersberg district is still swimming on the euphoria wave and has apparently also coped well with the departure of goalgetter Bakary Touray (17 goals in the 2021/22 promotion season).
The 2-1 win at Kirchheimer SC was followed by a 3-2 win at home against TSV Ampfing, coached by Ivica Coric.
"It's a very good climber, individually well staffed and with a lot of quality in the center," as the TuS trainer observed.

The Geretsried team around captain Sebastian Schrills showed how something like this can work at the start of the season against Freising.
"We have to improve significantly compared to the Holzkirchen game," Grelics demands a reaction and promises: "One thing will not happen: We will certainly not underestimate Forstinning, the team is too good for that."
Perhaps the hosts will be given an extra portion of energy by the large backdrop they are expecting in the Isarau Stadium.
The "TuS Days" take place at the weekend, with youth games for all Geretsried football teams before the men's games.
A big party with a disc jockey and a cocktail bar is also on the program for Saturday after the game.
Reasons enough for the Grelics-Elf to flip the switch again.
