There is a future:
Israel's reserve team in handball advanced today (Saturday) to the finals of the European Under-20 Championship Tier B, after a great victory over the Swiss team 29:32 (12:18), who were the favorites to win the tournament held in Bulgaria.
Tomorrow Israel will meet the winner between Greece and Romania, when the winner of the tournament will qualify for the qualifiers for promotion to the Under-21 World Championship (along with 5 teams that finished last in the European Championship Tier A - Montenegro, Norway, Croatia, Poland, Italy, and the Czech team that won in the first tournament held in Bulgaria), which will be held next summer.
The reserve, which defeated the national teams of Lithuania, Luxembourg and Great Britain on the way to the semi-finals, and won against Greece - surprised the Swiss - who finished in first place in the corresponding home with monstrous data of 4 victories in a perfect balance, a goal ratio of 58+ (almost 15 difference on average per game), and the scoring averages of 34 goals and an absorption of 20.
The reserve qualified for the semi-finals thanks to a dramatic victory over Lithuania, from Or Levy's winning goal in the last second - 25:26 - on Thursday.
Nissim Falah, coach of the reserve team, said at the end: "This is the team I wanted to see at the beginning of the tournament. Today we showed a level of Tier A. We did an amazing tactical preparation, the players came up like men, with a lot of faith, fighting and character. If we continue today's ability in the final - I believe we can win. But as I said at the beginning of the tournament: as soon as we become one, we are unstoppable."
