Munich – TSV 1860 Munich starts the new season of the 3rd division with a cracker duel.
The lions are guests at Dynamo Dresden, the favorite for promotion and relegation.
After two fourth places in a row this season, only promotion counts for coach Michael Köllner's team.
Coach Köllner calls for the rise of the lion explosion
After the two ungrateful fourth places recently, Giesinger's longing for more is enormous.
“This pressure is outstanding.
We want to spark a desire to celebrate something big in May.
This pressure has to catapult us through the league,” said Köllner.
The lion tamer wants to convert the high expectations into positive energy.
"Traditional clubs have a short fuse," he says: "To ignite euphoria, but also to explode." His goal is to be at the front right from the start, "because in the end we often had to pant out of the chasing role".
TSV 1860 at Dynamo Dresden in the live ticker: "eight, nine question marks" for the starting eleven
Köllner described the showdown against the Saxon top favorites, who had signed the former “Löwen” and ex-Nürnberger Manuel Schäffler during the week, as a “bang”.
"But we are well prepared and are going into the race with confidence," promised the man from the Upper Palatinate.
He doesn't want to be blinded by the miserable Dresden record with 19 winless games in a row at the end of the season.
"You're one of the favourites.
Everyone knows it's going to be hot stuff."
The total of nine newcomers present Köllner with a personal luxury problem.
“There are still eight or nine question marks.
Not because I'm dissatisfied with the first few, but because there are really good players at the back," revealed the coach.
With the exception of midfielder Jo Boyamba, who will be out due to an adductor injury, all the men are "hot for the first game".

Fluctuations in performance like last season should be avoided.
“We need maximum performance.
And in the end also the necessary luck”, explained Köllner.
