The performance of the amputee basketball player Emmanuel Hansel (from YouTube)
Hansel Emmanuel has long since become a network sensation, but now he is determined to prove that beyond his exciting and inspiring story hides a basketball player who is worth a chance in the NBA.
18-year-old Emmanuel, 1.96 meters, became famous thanks to a series of videos in which he is seen juggling on the courts despite the severe disability he has suffered from since the age of 6, when doctors had to amputate his left arm after a cracked building column crashed and hit his upper body.
Hansel became addicted to the orange ball precisely after the serious accident, and managed to make his way in the industry against all odds, from a small town in Puerto Rico to record-breaking hype in the United States.
After being admitted to an American high school, Hansel began to make a name for himself on courts across the United States and reached a popularity that is only equaled by that of Ronnie James, the son of LeBron James and the most famous high school player in the United States.
As of today, his Instagram account stands at 1.5 million followers, and the number is going to continue to jump considering that last weekend he took another significant step on the way to fulfilling his NBA dream.
Hansel's story
Hansel's best performance in high schools
Hansel has committed to Division 1 Northwestern State College, and will begin his college basketball career this coming season.
Hansel gave up offers from Memphis and Tennessee State Colleges, and chose the "Demons" who come with a modest record and have qualified for the NCAA tournament only three times in their history.
Hansel, an athletic combo guard with surprising shooting - despite the difficult starting conditions - is expected to be one of the top players for the "Demons" already in his freshman season, and hopes to leave a good enough impression for NBA teams to consider selecting him in the 2023 draft.

In the meantime, he was seen at his peak in his debut in the "Draw League", which recently became the favorite summer league for players from the best league in the world, and last week enjoyed an exciting guest appearance by LeBron James.
Hansel appeared for the first time against players, some of whom are professionals, and showed very good ability, with several impressive dunks and also a big block.
