Mercedes the return
The Silver Arrows are back on the podium.
For the first of the season, the two Mercedes drivers managed to get on the box.
Solid second for his 300th Grand Prix in F1, Lewis Hamilton had not experienced such a result since the final round of the 2021 season in Abu Dhabi.
The Briton, author of his 187th podium, was very satisfied at the end of the race.
Same thing in the clan of George Russell.
Long fourth, the young British played mischievously to get rid of Sergio Perez in the last laps.
His fourth podium of the season.
Quietly, Mercedes is 44 points behind Ferrari among the manufacturers.
Solid like Verstappen
27th career victory, the seventh of the season and the second in a row in France.
Sunday was extremely mild for Max Verstappen despite the stifling heat at Le Castellet.
Second at the start of the race, confined to following Charles Leclerc, the Dutchman took advantage of the Monegasque's error to achieve a quiet success.
He revived after two mixed races at Silverstone and Spielberg and above all, widened the gap in the championship with 63 points ahead of Leclerc.

Alpine's good points
Sixth place for Fernando Alonso and eighth position for Esteban Ocon, despite a chaotic start after contact with Yuki Tsunoda, Sunday was very good for the French team.
At home, Alpine scored twelve points and took fourth place among the constructors from McLaren.

And two.
For the second time in a row, McLaren placed both drivers in the points with Lando Norris finishing seventh and Daniel Ricciardo ninth.
Long lacking in performance, the orange cars are doing better from Austria.
This will have to be confirmed in Hungary, next Sunday, in order to consider the truce more calmly.
FLOPS
Ferrari, three terrible minutes
Until the 18th lap of the race, the weekend was almost perfect for Ferrari.
Then everything changed.
In the lead, Charles Leclerc made a mistake and smashed his car into the wall at Beausset.
The Monegasque's third retirement this season (Spain, Azerbaijan and France) and each time when he was leading the race.
Leclerc's mistake totally drowned Ferrari.
Starting 19th, Sainz had managed to climb back into the top 10 with his tough guys, but the retirement of his teammate caused the entry of the safety car.
The Spaniard then went to the pits to change his tires and there the Scuderia lost their footing.
The Italians missed the stop of the Iberian at first, before making him resume the track anyhow in front of a competitor.
In the coup for the podium, the Spaniard was then logically penalized with a five-second penalty which plunged the Reds definitively into the fog.
Returning to fourth place with ten laps to go, Ferrari then opted for a second stop, against the advice of its driver, who forced him to retreat.
Finally,

Alpha Tauri black hole
Eleven points scored in the last eight races, four Grand Prix without points, nothing is going well at Alpha Tauri.
The French Sunday did not help matters.
Eighth on the grid, Yuki Tsunoda was harpooned on the first lap by Esteban Ocon.
Last after the first lap, the Japanese then quickly gave up.
For his part, Pierre Gasly, at home, did not really exist at Le Castellet.
Fourteenth on the grid, the Habs finished in a disappointing twelfth position.
Another failure for Alpha Tauri.
