Jonas Vingegaard has won the 109th Tour de France.

The Dane from Team Jumbo-Visma drove the 116 kilometers from the Parisian suburb of Nanterre to the Champs-Élysées wearing the yellow jersey.

The 25-year-old had already secured his triumph the day before, and traditionally there are no more attacks on the last stage of the Tour of France.

Ineos Grenadiers won the team classification.

The Belgian Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Deceuninck) took the day's victory in the finish sprint on the Champs-Élsysées

On the 11th stage of the Tour, Vingegaard took advantage of a slump by defending champion Tadej Pogačar and has not relinquished the overall lead since.

Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) missed out on a third straight Tour win as the 23-year-old Slovenian picked up the white jersey for best young rider and finished second overall.

Briton Geraint Thomas (Ineos Grenadiers) came in third.

Vingegaard's Team Jumbo-Visma had another winner in Belgian Wout van Aert, who was able to celebrate the green jersey (points) and was also recognized as the most combative driver.

The dotted jersey (mountain classification) also went to Vingegaard, who had taken it from German rider Simon Geschke on the last Pyrenees stage.

Geschke led the mountain classification for nine days.

For Danish cycling, Vingegaard's victory is the culmination of an already festive tour.

The Grand Depart, the start of the tour, took place for the first time in Copenhagen and the surrounding area at the beginning of July with great enthusiasm.

The Danish riders achieved several successes in the stages in France.
