After the opening win against Freising (5:1) and the 1:6 defeat in Holzkirchen, TuS Geretsried suffered their second defeat in a row: The 0:2 against VfB Forstinning found no means, especially on the offensive.
Geretsried – There was nothing to get for TuS Geretsried in the home game against VfB Forstinning.
"The opponent was too strong," commented coach Martin Grelics in a slightly resigned tone of the 0:2 defeat against the Landesliga promoted team.
Right from the start, he presented himself as "grippy, snappier" (Grelics) than the hosts, and in the muggy and warm temperatures he immediately turned on the cold shower: In the seventh minute, Korbinian Hollerieth shot from 16 meters, Simon Voß was in the Geretsrieder Tor blocked the view – 0:1.
A classic goal out of nowhere.
A little later, the same was almost true for the other side: After a corner, the ball hit the crossbar and post in the cross corner before a VfB defender kicked it wide.
For a long time this was the last tricky situation in front of the goal of the largely unemployed Marko Susac.
"That was a lesson in defending," Grelics summed up the main reason for Geretsried's harmlessness.
"Forstinning was very disciplined at the back." TuS striker Srdan Ivkovic was almost unsubscribed from the opposing central defenders.
Sebastian Schrills was similarly ineffective, but after the break he had the greatest chance in Geretsried: After preliminary work by Simeon Zoumis and Anton Berger, the TuS captain asserted himself energetically in the center, but failed at the post.
"If he scores, it might be a different game," Grelics later commented on the scene from the 60th minute.
At this point, however, the guests were already 2-0 ahead.
In the 35th minute, Ivan Sadric began a textbook combination at right-back.
With three short stops, the ball rolled diagonally through midfield to the left attacking side to Ivan Bacak, who passed low and sharp into the middle where Mohamed Al Hosaini had a clear shot.
While Hosaini missed two or three more opportunities to extend Forstinning's result after the break, the hosts' attacking efforts did not get beyond the experimental stage.
"I think we deserved to win," said VfB coach Ivica Coric.
"You could tell that my boys were in their legs in the third game in a week, but they played very disciplined." This opinion coincided with the analysis of Martin Grelics, who indicated that his team might have a similar hard times as at the beginning of last season in the Landesliga Südwest.
His conclusion: "You have to learn a lot and quickly."
