After 10 days, the World Championships in Athletics closed this morning (Monday) with the big moment that everyone was expecting: a new world record by Mundo Duplantis.
The Swedish pole vaulter won the gold, as expected, and provided the highlight of the games when he improved the record he himself sets every time.
Apart from that, another world record was recorded in the women's 100-meter hurdles and also a historic gold medal by Eting Mo in the women's 800-meter run.

Men's pole vault final
Mundo Duplantis has long since become the biggest star of world athletics and the undisputed ruler of the industry, and this morning he further established himself as a legend in the making.
The Swede who brought the pole vault back to the front of the stage broke the world record for the fifth time in his short career, even though he is only 22 years old - when he jumped to a height of 6.21 meters, an improvement of one centimeter compared to the previous world record he set in Belgrade in March last year.
Duplantis has now won 16 consecutive competitions (!), and continues to deepen the gaps between him and his competitors in the industry, who have become extras in his solo presentation.
Along the way, he also accepted the challenge of the championship organizers and pocketed a bonus of 100,000 dollars for breaking the record.
Duplantis secured the gold medal quickly, with his main rival American Christopher Nielsen not breaking the 5.94 mark.
As usual, Duplantis approached to break the world record when his place on the top of the podium was already guaranteed, and succeeded in the challenge in the second jump.
Breaking records every time.

As mentioned, since 2020 Duplantis managed to break the record five times, challenging the great past star of the industry, the legendary Sergey Bobka.
In February 2020, he first smashed the world record of the Frenchman Renault Lavilani, when he jumped 6.17 meters.
Just a month ago he broke the world record in an open stadium, when he jumped 6.16 meters in front of the home crowd in Stockholm.
As mentioned, the competitors only have to fight for the leftovers.
Christopher Nielsen settled for silver with 5.94 meters, and the Filipino Ernest Obina took bronze with a jump of the same height.
Renault Lavilani, who is already at the end of his career, finished fifth (5.87 meters).
Almost history.

Women's 100 meter hurdles final
The day of records in Oregon almost continued with a tremendous run by Tobi Amusan - who set a world record that was unfortunately canceled later.
The Nigerian already stunned in the semi-finals after stopping the clock at 12.12 seconds - an improvement of 0.9 seconds from the previous world record - and continued all the way to gold in the final, with a further improvement after finishing the run of her life in 12.06 seconds.
Amusan became the first ever Nigerian woman to win a gold medal in running at the World Championships.
At the same time, her world record was canceled because of the wind speed that helped her.
Jamaican Brittany Anderson took the silver medal with a time of 12.23 seconds, followed by Puerto Rican Jasmine Camacho-Quinn.

Women's 800 meter final
Eting Mo has already won Olympic gold, but tonight she added a historic achievement, with the first ever gold medal for the United States in the 800 meters at the World Championships.
Sensational Mo, only 20 years old, provided another close and dramatic battle with her great rival, Keely Hodgkinson of Great Britain - but was ahead of her by only 8 hundredths with the result of the year in the world - 1:56.30 minutes.
Kenyan Marie Mora won the bronze medal with a time of 1:56.71 minutes.
An impressive finale.
