The European Youth Olympic Festival, held in Slovakia, opened today (Monday) with a storm for the Israeli delegation with beautiful achievements in athletics and swimming.
16-year-old Noam Memo, vice-champion of Europe for youth, finished the qualifying round in the 400 meter run in first place in a time of 48.62 seconds and advanced to the final which will be held tomorrow at 19:40 and hopes to continue his good time and get on the podium once more.
Success was also recorded for Ido Peretz, who managed to advance to the finals of the 100 meter run, although he finished only fourth in his heat, with 10.95 seconds, but was among the two fastest times of those who did not automatically advance to the decisive stage.
In the long jump Gali Lipperman achieved 4.88 meters and did not advance to the finals.

A busy day was also in swimming, when Daniel Rabinovitch advanced to the final of the 400 meter freestyle, where he finished in eighth place with 4:05.21 minutes.
In the women's 100 meter freestyle, after successfully passing the preliminaries, Shina Goland swam in the semi-finals where she set the fourth result in the heat and advanced to the finals.

The one who will try to get a first medal in the pool is Okan Goldin in the 100 meter backstroke, who first set 57.04 seconds in the preliminaries and in the semi-finals he swam better with 56.86 seconds and advanced to the finals from first place overall.
