The talented rider immigrates to Israel and will compete as an Israeli in the Olympic Games in Paris 2024: "I will no longer represent Austria, it feels right in my heart to make the transition"

Jewish equestrian Nicola Lewis Orner, who represented Austria in recent years, moved to Israel today (Tuesday), and is expected to represent Israel at the Olympic Games in Paris 2024, Israel Hayom learned.

The 22-year-old Orner, who competed in dressage, managed to achieve during her short career 38 victories in the 215 competitions she participated in, along with a number of horses she changed in recent years.

The talented rider has worked recently to make the transition, to start and accumulate points towards the Olympics, but she will not have time to compete in two weeks at the World Championships to be held in Denmark, where Israel will only take part in the jumping competition.

Orner has a warm relationship with Israel and she makes sure to come to Israel several times a year.

Her brothers and other relatives live in Israel, but most of the year she trains and lives in Austria.

The rider told about the transition: "Recently it has been a really exciting time and I feel so grateful for all these moments that I am experiencing. So in that spirit, I have some news to share. From now on, I will no longer represent Austria in international competitions; I will represent Israel ".
