John Ugo left Hapoel Be'er Sheva in 2019 after five seasons, during which he won three championships with the team, the Toto Cup and twice winning the title of Champion of Champions.
In an interview he gave to "Pulse Sports" in Nigeria, the relationship tells about the upheavals he went through since the departure and during it, and shared the less beautiful sides that led to it.
"If I talk about my career, I wouldn't leave Hapoel Be'er Sheva. When you're in the team for five years, you play with fans who really love you, they consider you their fighter. If I could turn back time, I would have stayed. I feel like I'm still Can do a lot in this team," said the Nigerian, who signed with Maccabi Jaffa from the National League about two months ago.

"I left because I felt I deserved an upgrade," Ugo said.
"Club owners and coaches see things differently from the way footballers see them. You have to pray as a player, to be liked by them. After five years in Be'er Sheva, the club wanted to offer me a new two-year contract and I heard it for the first time in the media without them talking to me first. They also wanted reduce my salary."
The Nigerian did not spare the criticism of the behavior towards him and revealed an interesting detail: "I told them that I played for them for five years in a row and they are supposed to upgrade my contract. I found out that I had offers from Spain - Mariel Betis - that they did not tell me about at all. I felt that they did not appreciate me enough, and then I left the team. Since then, unfortunately, I don't have a stable career."
