The footballer who became a porn actor "messed up" in the first sex scene: "It's better to be an athlete"

Damian Oliver, once a promising talent at Crystal Palace, has been making a living for the last four years from adult movies.

Today he is full of regret, and does not recover from the embarrassment in the scene that introduced him to the cruel industry: "I'm used to fucking, but I lost all confidence. It was a terrible experience."

From a strip club to the field: a porn star broke into the grass naked (from Twitter)

Somewhere at the beginning of the previous decade, Crystal Palace believed they were raising the club's defender of the future.

Damien Oliver was then one of the most prominent players in the youth team and in the club they built on him for the future, but then he got into trouble, went to prison and immediately upon his release became a different kind of actor - in the adult film industry.

Oliver has become a rising star in the field, but still regrets the athlete's career that was lost.

"Honestly, being a footballer is better than being a porn actor. If I had continued in football, I would be much richer today, and much happier," Oliver, 29, said this week in an interview with an English podcast.

Would not do this conversion again.

Oliver admits that he entered the industry thinking that he could get relatively quick and large money without working too hard.

An acquaintance of his was one of the producers in his first film, for which he received only £150. According to him, the filming for that film was traumatic and left him scarred to this day.

"First time on the set, and I felt like I was dying of fear.

A big bald cameraman arrived, and I have to pull out my penis in front of him and start fucking while he watches us.

It was a terrible experience," he said. "I remember walking around naked and sweating like crazy.

I'm not even sure if it suited me.

The floor was slippery, and I tripped over and over again.

It was so embarrassing, and we had to keep filming.

They had to clean the floor again and again because of my sweat.

In the end, we shot a sex scene on the couch, and I suffered a lot."

Oliver explains that the porn industry is hard, demanding and cruel, especially for men.

"I got into porn because people thought it was easy. They told me, 'You're always fucking anyway,' so maybe you'll get paid for it. I really was like that, I slept with a lot of women, I was a 'flyer.' But in my first films , I lost all confidence. With the cameras, with the excessive demands that are made of you, with the conditions that are placed on you - it's completely different than just sex. Being a porn actor is not as flashy and fun as people think."

In his four years in the industry, Oliver got to know his current partner, porn actress Sophie Anderson, but looking back, he still would have preferred to be a footballer.

"It's just much more respectable, much more comfortable, much more sane. And if you're as good as I could be, you'll also make a lot more money. So yes, there's some regret."
