The Israeli equestrian team in the dressage branch continues to grow stronger and a day after it was announced about the addition of Nicola Louis Orner, Russia's Anna Gosinova will also wear the blue and white uniform, with the aim of reaching the Olympic Games in Paris 2024.
The 20-year-old Gosinova, a Jew with a family living in Israel, participated in an international competition for Russia at the age of 12, when in 2016 she reached her peak, when she won the European Youth Championship in Spain and is considered one of Russia's greatest talents.
In recent years, she moved to train in Holland, when in recent months she could not compete, due to the sanctions imposed on Russia, following the invasion of Ukraine, then contact was made with the Israeli union and after all the procedural matters, she received the approval to start competing for Israel.
"My connection with Israel is through my family roots, which come from Israel," Anna said.
"I am grateful for all the support the Equestrian Association in Israel gave me for this smooth transition."
As mentioned, this is the second female rider to strengthen the dressage team of Israel recently, when the goal of the Israeli association is to develop this branch as well and eventually reach the Olympic Games, just as was done before Tokyo with the jumping team.
