Israeli swimming championship: Gorbenko starred with two gold medals Israel today

The best female swimmer in Israel excelled on the second day of the championship, when she finished first in the 50m breaststroke and 100m butterfly • Gold medals also for Ron Polanoski, Aviviv Barzilai and Matan Roditi


The second day of the Israel Swimming Championships was held this evening (Wednesday) at the national pool at the Wingate Institute, where the great star of the sport, Anastasia Gorbenko, won two gold medals. 

The evening opened with the finals for the 50-meter breaststroke, where European champion Gorbenko touched the wall first with 30.51 seconds, as expected, while in the men's parallel stroke, Ron Polanosky was crowned Israeli champion with a time of 28.08 seconds. 

Less than half an hour passed, and Gorbenko jumped into the water again, this time for the 100-meter butterfly final, where she won the first time with 59.46 seconds, while in the same stroke for men, Tomer Frankel, who won't participate in the upcoming European Championships due to congestion, won first place with 52.67 seconds.

Aviv Barzilai won the Israeli Championship in the 200 meter backstroke.

She led from the start and finished with 2:12.39 minutes.

For the men, it was David Garchik who retained his title from last year, when he clocked 1:59.03 minutes. 

In the 400 meter freestyle, Orin Gavlan won with 4:22.08 minutes.

In the first place among men came Matan Roditi with the result 3:51.37 minutes.
