Long targeted by PSG, the Italian striker has officially signed up with the London club West Ham, who announced it overnight.

There, for sure: he will not come to Paris Saint-Germain.

A target very seriously considered by Luis Campos and the new sports management of PSG as we revealed at the beginning of June, the Italian striker Gianluca Scamacca signed this Tuesday evening a five-year contract, plus an option, with the English club of West Ham.

This weekend, the general manager of the selling club of Sassuolo had detailed with Corriere dello Sport the details of this transfer: a basic compensation of 36 million euros subject to 6 million in various bonuses, and a percentage of 10% for resale which will go to the Italian club.

Despite its interest in the 23-year-old striker, recently international with the

Squadra Azzurra

, Paris has never wanted to commit to such amounts, especially after the arrival of Rémois Hugo Ekitike on July 17.

“A dream to play in the Premier League”

In the absence of Ligue 1, the native of Rome will therefore discover the exciting Premier League with the

Hammers

, who are coming out of a very good season both nationally (7th in the championship) and continental (1/2 final of Europa League).

"I'm really excited to join West Ham," said Scamacca, who will wear the No. 7 jersey, as the first speech relayed on the club's website.

I've been waiting for this moment for a long time and it's a dream to play in the Premier League.

I think West Ham is the perfect team for me.

They showed they really wanted me and when I spoke to the manager we understood each other straight away.

“We have been looking to strengthen our attacking options for some time, so we are delighted to have brought in Gianluca, reacted for his part David Moyes, the manager of the Hammers.

He comes with great credentials and we look forward to working with him.

He is a young centre-forward who has a very bright future ahead of him.

After Nayef Aguerd (Rennes), Flynn Downes (Swansea) and Alphonse Aréola (PSG), Gianluca Scamacca is the London club's fourth summer recruit.
