It is FC Bayern's top transfer this summer: Sadio Mané.
But do Munich need the Senegalese at all?
A former Bayern striker has concerns.
Munich – All football eyes are currently directed towards Munich.
FC Bayern seems to be particularly loose this summer and is on a big shopping spree.
Probably the most sensational transfer: Sadio Mané.
It cost the German record champions around 32 million euros - excluding bonuses.
But Mané is far from the only prominent newcomer to FC Bayern Munich.
Matthijs de Ligt, the Dutch defensive giant, was even ripped off by Juventus Turin for almost 70 million euros.
With players of this caliber, it is not surprising that FCB sport director Hasan Salihamidžić is currently receiving praise from all sides.
Really from all sides?
The former Bayern striker and today's DAZN expert Sandro Wagner is not completely convinced of the transfer offensive.
"Does that make sense?" Wagner doubts Mané's transfer to Bayern
"If you look at the individual transfers, it remains to be seen whether each individual transfer makes sense," Wagner explained on Tuesday at a DAZN appointment in Munich.
Mané, for example, is "a big name, a great player for the Bundesliga," explained the former striker, "but Bayern didn't really have a great need for the dribbling positions".
The situation only changed with the departure of Robert Lewandowski (FC Barcelona).
"If you want to change the system because you no longer have a striker, it makes sense again," Wagner is aware.
Just a few days ago, ex-Bayern defender Jérôme Boateng described Mané as "an absolute win for FC Bayern".
Wagner doubts transfers from Mané and de Ligt – he cheers about another Bayern star
But Wagner is not only concerned about the transfer of Mané.
"Does it make sense to get de Ligt for 70 million if you had Niki Süle and maybe could have kept him?" asked the current coach of SpVgg Unterhaching.
Süle has been under contract with Borussia Dortmund since this summer.
Bayern didn't see a cent in transfer fee for the central defender.
In addition to de Ligt and Mané, the Munich side have also added Ryan Gravenberch, Mathys Tel and Noussair Mazraoui to their squad.
The latter in particular triggers a storm of jubilation in Wagner: "I think Mazraoui's approach is outstanding.
This is a sensational transfer, because the Munich team had a problem going forward at right-back.”
Mané, de Ligt, Tel: Wagner is "surprised" by FC Bayern's transfer offensive
Wagner is surprised that FC Bayern is acting so offensively this summer.
"I was surprised at how much money was put into it," he revealed.
And: “Basically you have to look at why FC Bayern made so many transfers.
If you hear the voices of the last six months, there has been a lot of criticism that the team is fed up in a certain way - that also applies to the age structure."

It remains to be seen whether Wagner's concerns are justified.
