Landesliga: SE Freising is already close to the first three in the 2-2 win against TSV Wasserburg, but is also happy for the one point.

Freising

– It wasn't quite enough to win, but SE Freising scored the first point of the season against TSV Wasserburg on Friday evening with a 2-2 (2-1) win.

One can only guess how big the stone that fell from Flo Bittner's heart was, but the relief in the yellow-black camp must have been enormous.

"We're really happy about the point," Bittner summed up accordingly.

"The joy prevails, although we could have gone home with three points."

The Freisingers were indeed the better team over the 90 minutes and did not afford a ten-minute weak phase this time.

On the contrary: With a little more luck and concentration on the offensive, the home side would have left the field as winners.

Keeper Oswald on the post

At first, the Freisingers were lucky that keeper Maximilian Oswald – back between the posts after his corona illness – intervened in dire need (5th).

Minutes later, the Domstädter were already in front.

Daniel Zanker had put his way through superbly to Alex Eppink, who finished confidently (9th).

A little later, the second new signing, Christian Schmuckermeier, had the big opportunity to make it 2-0, but recklessly missed.

That should pay off first.

With the only chance worth mentioning, Wasserburg equalized with a 20-meter free kick by Leon Simeth (20th).

Instead of breaking it down, however, the Freisingers were willing to show old football virtues.

Compared to the start, they accepted the fight, threw themselves into the duels with verve, even the substitutes on the bench fired on.

Coach Bittner also made loud comments.

"That was the key today," he said happily, "that's the standard we have to set in the future." The reward: the lead again before the break.

And it was the first brother co-production this season.

Captain Flo Schmuckermeier placed a buttery free kick directly at Christian, who completed it with feeling (39th).

No further setback after the equalizer

In the second half, Freising didn't know whether to be happy or disappointed.

Because an old football adage has come true: If you don't take your chance up front, you'll get the bill afterwards.

So the Freisingers - perhaps due to their lack of experience - were too negligent with their opportunities.

First Christian Schmuckermeier failed in front of TSV keeper Boschner, a short time later Felix Günzel also had the goal scream on his lips (62nd).

The residents of Wasserburg demonstrated how things can be done better.

The Bayernliga relegated combined cleverly, and in the end Janik Vieregg finished confidently (71st).

As a result, substitute Brudtloff missed again for the SEF before Lerchenfelder got themselves into trouble again with a time penalty for Jonas Mayr.

Unlike in the last few weeks, this time the draw was held - and Lerchenfelder were happy about the first points of the season.
