Raisting compact at the back, but it still crunches at the front

SV Raisting revealed light and shadow at the start of the season: At FC Deisenhofen II, the defense was very compact, but there was room for improvement on the offensive.

Raisting

– As far as defense is concerned, SV Raisting seamlessly continued the flawless defensive performance of most games from the past season.

In attack, however, things still crunched in the opening game of the district league south at promoted FC Deisenhofen II.

The absence of Denis Grgic (14 goals in the 21/22 season), who had moved to Penzberg, and the absence of the injured Andreas Heichele (12) were clearly noticeable to the guests.

Raising in Deisenhofen with the better chances

The team around player-coach Johannes Franz did not get beyond a goalless draw in the Bayernliga reserve.

"Deisenhofen had a bit more time in the game, but we had clearer chances," said Franz, for whom the 0-0 felt more like two points lost than one gained.

Seven field players on the bench - more than they have been for a long time

"The conditions in Deisenhofen weren't that easy," said Franz after the game on the relatively small artificial turf pitch, which is also showing its age.

In addition, the league newcomer was a largely unknown quantity for the Raistinger coach.

"In the run-up I had little information about the opponent, who also has a new coach.

It was difficult to adjust properly to Deisenhofen," said Franz, who was able to compete with a lush squad compared to last season.

The substitute bench was populated by seven field players, the previous season there were often only two or three, mostly from the second.

"That's a more comfortable situation, but I'm still missing eight players from my 26-man squad to be in optimal condition," said Franz.

Opportunity conversion is expandable at Raisting

The Raistingers have room for improvement when it comes to exploiting opportunities.

"We had three clear chances that we unfortunately didn't know how to use," regretted Franz, who had three newcomers in the starting XI in Thomas Bretthauer, Gianluca Zandt and Benedikt Multerer.

The latter two, together with Markus Riedl, formed the visitors' offensive axis.

"All three together are not trained strikers."

Difficult to compensate for the departure of goalscorer Grgic for Raisting

It is therefore clear to Franz that the trio will not find it easy to compensate for the departure of goalscorer Grgic to Penzberg.

The Raistingers initially found it difficult to attack against the powerful and venomous hosts.

Benedikt Multerer only scored the first big chance with a header in the middle of the first half (24th).

"The FC keeper saved that with a brutally strong save," reported Franz, whose team still had a few half-chances from long-range shots.

In the end, raising no longer plays full risk

At the beginning of the second half, the otherwise unemployed SVR goalkeeper Urban Schaidhauf got a job.

A shot by the hosts from the edge of the box went wide (55').

After that, Raistinger's opening goal was twice in the air.

However, Zandt missed a header (60'), as did Multerer, whose lob just missed the goal (70').

"In the final phase we didn't put everything on one card anymore," admitted Franz.
