Every day, the possibility that Kevin Durant will open the 2022/23 season in Brooklyn is becoming more and more realistic.
According to ESPN, the Nets "have not yet raised the possibility of Durant withdrawing his request to leave," partly because a deal that satisfies the club's leaders has not yet been found.
The last name mentioned in the context of Durant is Jaylen Brown, but it is doubtful whether Boston will meet the demands of Brooklyn.
According to ESPN, "Brooklyn will surely ask for Brown, Marcus Smart, several draft picks, several draft trades, and possibly another young player", and in the meantime, the contacts between the parties have been quiet in recent days.
In the United States, it is claimed that Jayson Tatum responded to the rumors indirectly, when asked about the success last season and replied: "Chemistry is half the story. You can have a great team with great talent, but he won't connect. Our guys, we connected in January, and for a moment we didn't look behind".
Chemistry above all?

Toronto has also been mentioned many times as a candidate to receive Durant, but it is not even ready to consider transferring Scotty Barnes in return.
Last season's rookie provided a wonderful debut season, with 15.3 points (49 percent for 2), 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, and without him, it is not clear whether the Raptors will be able to build a package that the Nets would like.

And what about Kyrie Irving?
After reports that he intended to stay in Brooklyn with or without Durant, the point guard tweeted: "I'm entering my 12th year in the best league in the world, and I'm only getting better. When I'm 38 I can look at my career and think, but until then I'm going to enjoy every moment. And I will not stop playing basketball at the age of 38, I will be in all the leagues in the world and teach the youth what they taught me."
