Today (Monday), the Israeli national team held its official opening training ahead of the European Championship games in September and the World Championship qualifiers at the end of this month.
Danny Avdia, Yuval Zussman, Tamir Blatt and John DiBartholomew will join the team later this week and it is not yet clear which of them will be on the roster for the preparatory game against Auburn College next Monday (8.8.).
Coach Guy Goodes said before training: "This time we have more time than in normal windows to train, produce an orderly hierarchy and work on tactical elements."

The national coach commented on the addition of Danny Avdia, who is returning to the team after two and a half years: "Danny comes with the aura of an NBA player, but the Israel national team is above any player. From my conversations with him, he really wants to be on the team and we will use him for many things. He can help Very much for us."
