The bidding is likely to take off on August 20 next to Monterey, California, to try to acquire a precious piece of motorsport history.
Sotheby's has announced that the Ferrari F300 driven by Michael Schumacher in 1998 between June and September will be auctioned.
A first estimate put the price of this little gem at between 6 and 8 million dollars.

Formula 1 fans remember that that year, the German driver let the world title escape him after a magnificent duel with Mika Hakkinen at the wheel of a McLaren.
But the F300 remains, despite everything, a unique piece in the history of Scuderia Ferrari since on board, "Schumi" remained undefeated.

Leaving the Maranello workshops, the single-seater (and this chassis badged n°187) won the four races in which it was entered: the Grands Prix of Canada, France, Great Britain and Italy.
These trophies make the F300 the only undefeated car in Formula 1 history with at least three races on the clock!
But these successes were not enough for Michael Schumacher to win his duel against the Finn, titled with 100 points and eight victories (against 86 and six victories).
The estimate of this piece of automotive history?

Regarding the condition of the single-seater photographed from every angle in the streets of Paris, Sotheby's assures us that it has been "
remarkably preserved
".
The F300 had been kept by Scuderia Ferrari until September 1999 when it was sold to a collector.
In 23 years, the latter has not made any changes to the car compared to its racing condition.
A treasure of automotive history that has remained hidden from the public eye since its acquisition.
