Summary of Maccabi Haifa's 0:4 over Olympiakos in Greece (Sport1)

Although Maccabi Haifa will host Apollon Limassol tomorrow (Wednesday, 20:00, Sport2) for the first of two matches in the Champions League qualifiers, today they have already been informed who their opponent will be if they beat the Cypriot champions: the winner of the match between Red Star Belgrade and Pyunik Yerevan.

The games will take place on August 16/17 and 23/24.

The next stage will be the playoff stage and it is the last in the qualifiers.

The winner will qualify for the group stage of the Champions League and the loser will be relegated to the group stage of the Europa League.

Maccabi Haifa hopes to return home for the first time since the 2009/10 season.

If Maccabi Haifa is knocked out by Apollon Limassol, they will be relegated to the playoff stage of the Europa League and this draw will also take place today.

In this case, the champion will be drawn against one of the other losers who will be eliminated from the Champions League.

The games will take place on August 18 and 25.

Meet the Red Star Belgrade

The stadium:

"Maracana" as the Red Star Stadium is called, is considered one of the hottest in Europe.

In the league games, which are considered relatively "negligible", sometimes only about 6,000-7,000 spectators come, but for big games, for example meetings with Partizan Belgrade or matches in Europe, the champion of Serbia is able to easily attract more than 40,000 spectators who provide a sizzling atmosphere.

The history: The

Red Star has full title cupboards.

19 Yugoslav championships before the dissolution and the war, 13 championships after it and that's really not all.

The giants from Belgrade were European champions in 1991, won the Intercontinental Cup a little later, reached the final of the UEFA Cup in 1979 and much more. The DNA of dominant participation by European factories has been flowing in the veins of this club for many years.

The coach:

The legendary Dian Stankovic played 15 years in Italy, won championships with Lazio and especially Inter, was European champion under Jose Mourinho and wore the national team uniform 103 times.

He led the Red Star to three consecutive championships and gives the impression that he is also at the beginning of an impressive coaching career.

The stars:

there isn't just one like that, not even two.

The defense is led by Aleksandar Dragovic, who hoped to move to Italy in the summer, but is still in Belgrade.

Drago, by the way, suffered a lot from the Israeli national team when he played in the center of the Austrian national team's defense.

And who else?

Alexander Katai is brilliant even at the age of 31, the attacking midfielder Mirko Ivanić is a numbers machine and the winger Osman Bukari has already left a mark in the league after being acquired for 2 million euros from Magnet.

Alexander Peshich:

The former Maccabi Tel Aviv striker returned home a few weeks ago and it is impossible not to remember the heated meetings between him and the Greens during his time in Israel.

Soon we may find out if there is still bad blood there.

Kings Kangwa:

In the 2017/18 season, Hapoel Beer Sheva signed the young Zambian and added him to the youth team, while his brother Evans starred for Hapoel Ra'anana.

The young Kangwa scored 8 league goals and even did it once to the net of Roi Fox from Maccabi Haifa, against Mahmoud Jaber, Maor Levy and Sof Podgorano.

Last summer, the 23-year-old midfielder was purchased from the Russian Arsenal Tula and meanwhile in 4 games in the Serbian league, he scored 2 goals and added an assist.
