The Olympic mountain biker, Shlomi Chaimi, will attend a press conference at the Olympic Committee in Tel Aviv this coming Monday, where he will announce his retirement.
Chaimi, 33 years old, is a cyclist who specializes in mountain bikes.
Won eight times in the Israel Championship starting in 2009, and during his career also won twice in the runners-up of the Israel Championship.
At the European Games held in Baku 2015, he finished the race in 18th place.
A year later he secured his place in the Olympic Games in Rio and thus became the first mountain biker to represent Israel in the Olympic Games.
Brio itself finished in 29th place after suffering twice from bad luck with flat tires, when at the 2019 World Championship in Canada he was ranked 30th - a record achievement for an Israeli rider.
In 2020 he got his place in the Olympics again, and finished in 33rd place in Tokyo.
