Iman Shumpert hasn't played in the NBA since the 2020/21 season, and it's doubtful he will in the near future.
Tonight (Wednesday) the guard was arrested at the Dallas airport with a "considerable amount" of marijuana, media in the United States report.
The security forces at the airport found a bag of marijuana on the NBA player, handcuffed him and sent him directly to detention.
According to TMZ, if convicted, he could face up to two years in prison.
In Shumpert's bag was also found a cartridge from a Glock pistol, and bullets from another gun - but not the weapons themselves.
Shumpert (32, 1.96 m) was selected in the 17th draft by New York, where he played until 2015. After that he also moved to Cleveland, which he helped win the championship in 2016, Sacramento, Houston and Brooklyn.
Over the years, he also made headlines off the floor, among other things when he tried to crack a rap career, and when he won the 30th season of "Dancing with the Stars" in the United States.
In the 2020/21 season he made two appearances in Brooklyn, and since then has not been able to find another contract in the NBA.
