Every stop in honor of Syrian sports has a title, and this time it was titled the Champions of the Mediterranean Games, which were held last month in the Algerian city of Oran in its nineteenth edition, and our delegation had seven medals, 4 gold and 3 silver.
In the ceremony, which was held today in Al-Jalaa Sports City in Damascus, the Syrian sports champions in the last Mediterranean cycle, their coaches and the mission’s cadres were honored, and the Olympic champion Ghada Shuaa was honored, in addition to honoring a number of sports media professionals.
The honored champions are the jockeys Ahmed Hamsho, Shadi Gharib, Amr Hamsho and Laith Al-Ali, who achieved the gold medal in the team competition by showjumping, noting that the individual competitions witnessed gold and silver for our jockeys Ahmed Hamsho and Gharib, respectively, in boxing Ahmed Ghosoun, the gold medalist of 75 kg, and in the Olympic weightlifter Maan Asaad, the holder of the netter gold And the silver of the kidnapping and in athletics, Majd Al-Din Ghazal, who won the silver in the high jump.
The President of the General Sports Federation, Firas Mualla, pointed out the importance of the achievement achieved in the last Mediterranean tournament, as it has not been achieved 30 years ago in the Mediterranean courses, and our champions have proven through it that they are a difficult figure in the competition.
Mualla pointed out that the honor comes in appreciation of the efforts made by these heroes in order to achieve this achievement, which motivated them to achieve more victories.
The Syrian Olympic Committee awarded the heroine, Ghada Shuaa, the Syrian Sports Medal.
The honoring ceremony was attended by a member of the central leadership of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, head of the Central Youth Office, Dr. Ammar Saati, Minister of Health, Dr. Hassan Ghobash, Secretary of the Damascus Branch of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party Hussam al-Samman, Secretary of the Damascus Countryside Branch of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party Radwan Mustafa, Governor of Damascus Muhammad Tariq Kreishati and a number of council members The people, heads of popular organizations, members of the Executive Office of the Sports Federation, and heads of sports federations.
