The third day of the World Championships in Athletics under the age of 20, opened today (Wednesday) with two more Israeli athletes taking to the track.
Tomer Moalem, 19 years old, participated in the qualifiers for the 3,000 meter steeplechase, which he finished after 9:08.19 minutes and ranked ninth in his heat and 22nd overall, which did not earn him a place in the finals.
Later, the Israeli champion will participate in the 200-meter race, where last year he managed to shave 39 hundredths from his personal best and set the clock at 20.55 seconds, which is also the Israeli record, which he set at the beginning of July in Germany.
The talented 18-year-old runner, accompanied by his coach Igor Balon, will hope to pass the qualifiers first, in order to continue to the decisive stages and possibly make it to the last eight among the 70 participants.
