An accident which gave rise to a hat-trick for the Jumbo-Visma at the head of the race, with Timo Roosen, Edoardo Affini and Chris Harper on the podium.
Problem: the two leaders celebrated their victory on the finish line, causing much criticism.
“If we had known, we would never have celebrated”
“There is no reason to congratulate me,” responded winner Timo Roosen on his Twitter account.
“I hope everyone is well after this huge fall.
I wish a speedy recovery to all riders involved.
We had no idea what had happened behind us, and that the fall was of such magnitude.
If we had known, we would never have celebrated, ”he justified himself in the face of the emerging controversy.
No reason to congratulate me.
I hope everyone is ok after the huge crash.
Wishing a quick recovery for the involved riders.
We had no clue of what happened behind us, and that it was a crash of this extent.

After his victory, his team did not celebrate the success of the day.
“It was a crazy last mile with a massive crash in Spain.
In the end, it was Timo Roosen who crossed the finish line first.
Let's hope everyone caught in the fall is doing well, ”responded the team soberly on social networks.

First unbalanced runner, David Dekker wanted to defend his victorious teammates.
“They didn't know what was going on and with that speed, so close to the finish, it was impossible to know.
I'm not complaining, so in my opinion, no one should do it, ”positioned the cyclist.
Big damage in the peloton
If David Dekker has "nothing broken", other riders were badly affected in the fall that occurred at the end of the 2nd stage of this Tour of Burgos.
Frenchman Damien Touzé, of the AG2R Citroën team, suffers from head trauma and a concussion.
In the rest of the field, Orluis Aular fractured his scaphoid, while David Gonzalez Lopez dislocated his elbow.
Both are also forced to give up before the 3rd stage of this Thursday, which will join Villarcayo from the village of Quintana Martin Galindez (Spain).
