The court in Russia today (Thursday) sentenced the WNBA star, Brittany Griner, to nine years in prison on charges of drug possession.
According to reports, the judge in the Russian court found that Griner had criminal intent and added that she was guilty of smuggling and possessing illegal drugs in the country.
Even before the verdict, the prosecutor in the trial demanded a prison sentence of nine and a half years for the actress, and in the end, as mentioned, a similar punishment was imposed on her, in addition to a financial fine.
