A violent fall in the last kilometer of the course sent many runners to the mat, some very seriously injured.
Three riders from the Dutch team, at the head of the peloton, were able to escape this chaos and fought for victory.
Emerging from the sprint, Timo Roosen raised his arms to the sky as he crossed the finish line.
A behavior that was not appreciated by many Internet users.

The rider was therefore obliged to justify himself in the evening to explain that he was not aware of the seriousness of the fall when celebrating his victory.

The winner of the day was supported by the second of the stage, his teammate Edoardo Affini speaking on social networks.

I was making a full exit effort.
I saw a teammate pass me with 200m to go and I celebrated, yes.
I really had no idea of the huge carnage behind us
, ”wrote the Italian before attacking the UCI for the presence of the speed bump in the final.

The two men were supported by their teammate, David Dekker, who caused the collective crash that occurred just after passing over a speed bump.

Several runners suffer from fractures
