Jerusalem will host the Masters competition on December 19 in Jerusalem • Grand Slam Tel Aviv will open on February 17

The World Judo Federation (IJF) published today (Thursday) the schedule of competitions for 2023, with the Grand Slam in Tel Aviv opening on February 17.

The significance of setting this date means that in Israel, within two months, there will be two major judo competitions, since on December 19, the Masters competition will be held at the Arena in Jerusalem, where the top 32 ranked in the world in each weight will attend.

The first competition of the new year will be the Grand Prix in Portugal on January 27, when even before everyone arrives in Tel Aviv, the traditional Paris Grand Slam will also take place in February.

Next year's significant event will be the World Judo Championship, which will be held this July, in Doha, Qatar.

In addition to the World Cup disrupting the world football calendar, the World Judo Championship also caused the European Championship to be moved to September for the first time, and it will be held in Montpellier in the south of France.
