There were exciting races at the ADAC MX Masters in Gaildorf: In the middle was a duo from the district, who scored many points for the overall standings.

Gaildorf – Valentin Kees is certainly not prone to exuberance.

For the first time this season, the 17-year-old from Schwabniederhofen finished a race weekend in the top ten in the “Youngster Cup” at the ADAC MX Masters.

His conclusion was: "We still have to work on my starts." Nevertheless, the driver from the "KTM Kosak Racing" team was satisfied with his placement.

According to Kees, things should now continue “step by step”.

In the international field in Gaildorf, the KTM rider was the third-best German at the end.

With ranks ten, 13 and eight in the three races, he also scored a decent amount of points for the overall ranking of the Masters series.

With now 84 points, Kees is in 15th place in the "Youngster Cup".

He would certainly be much further up the field if he hadn't been able to start at the previous event in Tensfeld.

However, an accident in qualifying prevented participation in the races (we reported).

The arm injury healed after a few days off.

Kees was able to start at the races for the "German Championship Open".

At MSC Aichwald, the man from Schwabniederhofen had a “good weekend with progress” against the national competition.

Has reason to be happy at the moment: Valentin Kees (right) recently achieved good results at the DM Open and the ADAC MX Masters, which also makes the team members happy.

Kees with a strong performance at the Open-DM

Kees won the first race of the junior class (250cc) after 17 laps with a lead of one and a half seconds.

After a good start, he was quickly in second position.

In the seventh lap he took the lead and never gave it up.

In the second race, Kees was again among the front runners, but then had to slow down.

Stomach cramps bothered the KTM rider.

Nevertheless, he crossed the finish line in third place.

In the daily classification, Kees finished second behind Laurenz Falke (STC Racing Team), who had won the second race.

In Gaildorf, the man from Schwabniederhofen finished five places ahead of Falke in the daily standings.

At the same time, Kees was the best driver of the "KTM Kosak Racing" team.

He was three points ahead of Paul Bloy (10th) and eight points ahead of Constantin Piller (12th).

The measure of all things at the fifth MX Masters event of the season was the Frenchman Maxime Grau in the "Youngster Cup".

On his "Husqvarna" he won all races and thus collected the maximum of 75 points.

He is also ahead in the overall standings.

Second was the Spaniard Guillem Farres (64), third the German Max Spies (58).

In the Masters class, the audience in Gaildorf experienced a surprise.

Max Nagl, who had won all four daily classifications this season so far, had to settle for fourth place after three classification runs.

In the first race, the "Husqvarna" driver from the "Krettek-Haas-Racing-Team" was only in twelfth place on the starting lap, but then made up numerous places.

Then bad luck overtook him: Nagl fell while he was fourth.

He finished seventh.

Max Nagl not at the top for the first time this season

In the second race, Nagl secured a secure second place behind the day's winner, Yamaha rider Valentin Guillod (Switzerland).

The veteran from Weilheim finished the final race in third place.

Shortly before the end, the Frenchman Jordi Tixier, who was driving in second place, went down - he was overtaken by Tom Koch and Nagl.

On the first day of the race, "the worm stuck in there with a bad start and then another fall," said Nagl in an ADAC statement.

On Sunday, “My starts were good, but I couldn't convert them into wins.

I was fast, but not fast enough.” However, he also didn't want to go over the limit in order not to risk a fall, “which means you can lose more points”.

So he continues to lead the overall standings with a clear lead, "I'm happy about that," said Nagl via "Instagram".

Going into the final three events, his gap to second place, Tixier, is 51 points.
