Neuer is missing in Bayern training: time until the Frankfurt game is running out

FC Bayern is threatened with a prominent failure at the start of the Bundesliga.

Captain Manuel Neuer is absent from training on Wednesday with a gastrointestinal upset.

Munich – FC Bayern is preparing for the Bundesliga opener on Friday against Eintracht Frankfurt.

There are definitely easier tasks than starting with the reigning Europa League winners, especially since Bayern traditionally have a hard time in Frankfurt (two defeats in the last three duels).

After the brilliant 5: 3 success in the Supercup against RB Leipzig, there is therefore no reason for coach Julian Nagelsmann to experiment.

The FCB coach may want to send the same starting XI into the race, but he may be forced to make a change.

As announced by FC Bayern Munich, Neuer missed the unit due to a gastrointestinal upset.

It was initially not known whether the goalkeeper would be fit again in time for the game at Eintracht on Friday.

A return in the final training on Thursday would probably be a prerequisite for this, but if necessary the 36-year-old could also travel to Frankfurt on Friday.

Should Neuer actually fail, the hour has come for substitute goalkeeper Sven Ulreich.

Goalkeeper number three is the 19-year-old talent Johannes Schenk.

Most recently, Neuer was absent in February and March after knee surgery.

At that time, too, Ulreich, who celebrated his 34th birthday on Wednesday (3 August), was appointed as a representative.

After four Bundesliga games and one game in the Champions League, Neuer was back in the Munich goal.

While Bayern have to fear that Neuer will be out, other players are already certain.

Nagelsmann has to do without Leon Goretzka and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting due to injuries, and Kingsley Coman is also missing after his suspension from last season.
